ORDERING BY CREDIT CARD

Each item is followed by as many as three prices - one for the US (item number starts with GB-), one for Canada (item starts with GBC-), and one for all other countries (item starts with GBX-). There are NO shipping charges. They are built into the cost of the item. These different prices reflect the cost of shipping to various countries. Shipping is by the United States Postal Service. With the exception of small items such as books and glue, which are usually shipped by First Class Mail, shipping is as follows:

To the US - Priority Mail (takes 2-4 days)

To Canada - International Priority Mail (6-10 days)

To all other countries - International Express Mail (7-10 days)

Upon receipt of an order, we will e-mail you with a receipt confirmation and information about when your order will be shipped, how long it should take in transit, etc. If you have any questions, please e-mail me .

NOTE: orders to foreign countries can only be shipped to the same address as the billing address on the credit card being used.

THE SMALL PRESS. Officially, the Gigabooks Trade Paperback Hand Binding Press. This is our latest model, introduced in December, 2007. It's informally known as 'the small press.' It will bind books up to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 2" thick (roughly 500 sheets of 20-lb paper and well over 400 sheets of 24-lb paper - that's up to 1,000 pages). 10 1/2" x 6 1/2" in size, constructed of 1/2" thick acrylic, with acrylic paper stops and 1" square aluminum pressing bar. Can be assembled in either right-handed or left-handed configuration. Weighs about 3 pounds. Extremely sturdy. Given reasonable care, this little jewel will outlast the purchaser. (see photo)

THE BIG PRESS. We call this the Gigabooks Super-Duper Deluxe, Totally-Adjustable Hand-Binding Press. Our latest model, introduced in December, 2007. It's light in weight but extremely strong. The base is 1/2" thick acrylic. A bracing bar on the back gives extra rigidity. Can be assembled as a desk press or a lap press, in either right-handed or left-handed configuration. Will bind books of any size from (about) 2" x 3"(51 mm x 77 mm) up to 8 1/2" x 12" (217 mm x 320 mm), and up to 2 " (51 mm) thick. It's completely adjustable. Change to any size in a jiffy (loosen 2 wing nuts, adjust the bottom paper stop to desired book width, then spin the 2 wing nuts tight - it's that easy!). Includes instructions for making three-piece covers using 8 1/2" x 11" cover stock. (see photo)

8 1/2" x 14" C1S COVERS (C1S = coated one side - has a glossy finish on one side and a matte finish on the other side). (Necessary for perfect binding 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" paperback books). These covers can be printed by most inkjet printers that can handle labels and other thick material. They can also be used in many of the newer color copiers.

    10-point C1S (10-pt = .010")- White only, with a glossy coat on one side. Professional thickness.

    8-point C1S (8-pt = .008")- White only, with a glossy coat on one side. If 10-pt C1S is too thick for your printer to handle, this will probably work. It feels quite a bit thinner than 10-pt C1S when you're holding a full sheet, but once it's on the book, you can hardly tell the difference. I use this stock as the cover for The Perfect Binding Handbook.

G-600) OVERSIZE COVERS. 11" x 20" cover stock for making 8 1/2" x 11" books. This glossy, 10-pt C1S stock can be printed (if you have an oversize printer), copied on most of the newer color copiers, or used as a 'base' piece for our laminating film (see next item, below). Items printed on your regular-size home printer, or obtained from other sources, can be glued to the base piece and then covered with a laminating sheet to hold everything in place. Available in white only.

NOTE: It is unlikely you will be able to find a color copier that can copy the full 20" length of these covers at a reasonable price. Most of the newer color copiers can only copy up to 17" in length. The remaining 3" will come out as uncopied - in other words, those 3" will come out white. You can still get these covers copied, you'll just have to design your cover so that either the front or back cover has a white border or frame that occupies any area past 17 inches.

Made from clear, flexible 3.2 mil vinyl, this heavy-duty, acid-free, library-quality film features a delayed bond adhesive which makes it extremely easy to use. No special machine or heat needed.
