This is safe. The information you are asked to provide is the information that's already on your check. If you have ever used your checking account, this information is already out there, stored in databases around the country. Writing a check this way is no more risky than writing a check in your checkbook and then sending it to someone you don't know (like the friendly folks at your phone company, electric company, or that catalog company that's located on the other side of the country from where you live). Plus, we use a secure server for this information.
How, exactly, do I fill out that blank check?
Since you'll need the bank number and account number from the bottom of one of your checks, the easiest way is to take a check from your checkbook, mark it VOID, and then copy it when filling out our online check. Don't forget to record the check as a debit (payment) in your check register. Complete instructions are available by going to our i-Check page.
After I order, how long will it take before I receive my order.
Barring any major unforeseen problems, your order will be shipped 2-3 working days after you submit it to us (working days at Gigabooks are Monday-Friday, but we accept orders and answer e-mail 7 days a week). Orders shipped to the western part of the U.S. typically take 3-4 days to arrive, orders to the eastern part of the country usually take 2-3 days. Book-only orders are shipped via First Class Mail, and usually take 3-7 days. All orders to Canada are shipped Air Mail and usually arrive within a week. Also, we notify you by e-mail when your order has been received and when it has been shipped, so you'll know when to expect it.
